Don't forget to protect your eyes during physical activity! Sports at moderate to high risk for eye injuries include: basketball, baseball, softball, ice hockey, tennis, soccer, volleyball, football, fishing, and golf. Here are some tips from Go4Life to help you prevent eye injury during physical activity:

  • Get the right eyewear! Make sure that the protective eyewear you choose is approved for your sport.
  • Wear safety goggles over ordinary glasses, contact lenses, and sunglasses to protect your eyes.
  • Many eye care providers sell protective eyewear, as do some sporting goods stores. Look for the proper American Society for Testing and Materials standards written on the packaging.
